Tabatha folds over as a sharp pain shoots through her body, and she can’t stop the scream that escapes through her mouth. She is meant to be looking for Erik, but something is wrong with her, and the first thing she thinks of is the baby.
Jade shouts for her handmaiden to call the doctor while she helps Tabatha to the couch.
“Erik! I have to find Erik!” Tears start to flow from Tabatha’s eyes, but Jade tells her to first concentrate on herself and the baby.
“Leland will find him. I promise.” But the emotions rushing over her face don’t ease Tabatha’s fears as another searing pain shoots through her body.
The doctor arrives, and he starts to check her from head to toe before two porters arrive with a hospital bed.
