ELOISE Arriving back at the citadel, Jamie kissed me on the cheek and hurried off to speak to Ally and Holly's mothers. I told him that I would go and see Council Member Harper and let him know what Holly had said. Something was bothering me, though. Holly had been acting strangely. I wasn't sure if it was because of whatever secret she was hiding involving that blood pool, but something was wrong. She seemed wary of me. I had stroked the baby's cheek to try and act like I was one of them, cooing over this wriggly pink baby. I couldn't hope but notice that when I did, Holly had stiffened.
