Lucas’s hand slid around my waist, pulling me close. It wasn’t gentle. It was firm. Confident. Like he was saying without words, she’s mine now. My breath caught in my throat. The warmth of his touch spread through me, and for a second, I forgot how to breathe. I could feel the hard line of his body beside mine, his thumb resting just above my hip. My heart went wild.
