Here's to You & Me

We just moved here to this small town and I don't have any idea of where this place is located. I'm not even sure if this place can be found in google map, though, it's not that small, but still. When I first heard the word Aleosan, I thought it was a big wide city, but boy was I wrong. It looks like a hamlet. I don't know why my father didn't complain when his boss assigned him here. It's a secluded village, far from the city, and big buildings that I got used to. Gone was the huge and enormous mall like where I spent time with my friends. This place was full of leafy picturesque. It's a good thing, though, fresh air and away from bustling crowds. I have no other choice but move with him because he needed this job since this job's the only thing that feed us and I'm obligated to follow for one reason: I'm his only child and he don't want to go far away from his precious baby boy. I didn't have time to check around the neighborhood since tomorrow is my first day at my new school. I need to unpack my things in my room first and prepare the things I needed for school. When I finished, it's already eight and I can hear my dad's rattling noises in the kitchen preparing for dinner. I'm already washed up when I enter the kitchen and I was met with the aroma of lasagna sauce and some Italian spices. I heard my stomach growl. That makes my dad look my way and laugh. "Hungry?" I nod. "Should be ready soon. Prepare the table first." And so I did. After we finished eating, we retreat to our respective room since we have an early day tomorrow. TODAY'S my first day in this school. I still don't understand why do I need to transfer when it's already mid-year. I tried to convince my dad to let me finish just this school year and then I'll follow him here after, but he said no. Clearly he doesn't trust me to wander on my own. Because I'm still this five years old that almost got hit by a car by him. I'm already eighteen and he still thinks of me as a little boy. Well, I can't blame him. Even if I'm now formerly a young-adult, my physique was pretty much different from other boys my age. I am this lanky, pale and fragile looking boy that looks like didn't see or visit a single gym his entire life. I'm good at my classes, though. Not as good as a nerd or some top student, but good like in the middle. The one who have passing grades yet no honour. That's me. The school building was obviously old. It was very quaint. I can already inhale the dusty smell of the building from afar. Two building were facing each other while the other two were erect in the center. I can see the queue of students entering the building and follow them, but I beeline to the principal's office in lieu. When I found the office I'm looking, I gently knock on the wooden door and heard a booming response inside. When I open the door, I saw a huge man sitting in front of a table at the center. He has a sinewy body. He's attractive, sure. But his body was tremendous, and that's a little scary. He looks at me and gesture for me to come in. I silently close the door behind me, suddenly nervous and my palms were starting to sweat. He was intimidating. He looks like a bear in a suit. "Please have a seat," he said and pointed to the opposite seat in front of him. I'm not sure if this is his normal voice, but I'm starting to dislike it. I took a seat and calm my nerves. "You’re Michael Blanca. Am I right?" I nod because I didn't trust my voice right now. I don't want to stutter and give a bad impression. "I'm Henry Sullivan, the principal. I received a call from your father early this morning. And I am expecting you here. Welcome to Aleosan High," he continued. He offered his vast hand for a handshake and I took it immediately. Don't want him to wait. "Thank you, Mr. Sullivan," I responded. When he released my hand, he then picked a small paper from his desk. "Here's the schedule of your classes. If you needed or wanted anything, just don't hesitate to knock at my office." He handed me the paper. After I closed the door of his office and the so nerve-wrecking introduction, I inhale heaps of cold air. The first bell rang and I immediately go to the building where the classes were held. THE MORNING classes run smoothly the way I am expecting. Introduction and recap of what I've already known about a certain topic in my previous school. I can see that I'm ahead a little from what they'd learned. When the bell rang for lunch, some of my classmates stand instantaneously even if the teacher was still in front talking. Rude. I just pack my things and followed suit when the teacher got out. I don't have any idea where was the cafeteria located. I just followed the other students since they're heading in the same direction. When I'm walking, some students are eyeing me, some offered a smile, so I smiled back. Some are just doing their own business without a care for their surroundings. I almost reach the cafeteria door when someone slung their arm over my shoulder that frightened me. I look toward that said person and came face to face with a green-eyed girl with an auburn hair. I blinked and look at her. Don't know what to say. "Soooo... you're the new student." It's not a question, so I just nod. "I'm Jennifer. Others call me Jenny. What's your name?" I clear my throat and answer. "I'm Michael, but my friends at my former school call me Milo." She looks at me with a scrunch face, maybe wondering where did the Milo come from when it's pretty different from my name. I offered my hand, and she hastily took it. "So, Milo. Wanna eat lunch with us?" I didn't know what she meant with us, but after she said it, I notice the two other girls behind her. I want to decline her offer because I really want to eat alone, but this is my first day, and this is the first person who had the nerve to approach me. And maybe a potential friend. I don't want to be rude, so I agreed. The other two girls introduce their self to me. Amber, the one who's chubby and with a red hair and also pretty that will put Kendall Jenner in shame. When you talk about the face, yeah. And Karen, the petite brunette girl with a perfect smile that can swoon men. They are all the same person in spite of their differences. They're all loud and talkative. We beeline to the empty table near to the boisterous guys who occupied the table next to ours. Great, the last place that I want to be at. I said nothing, though, because I don't want to preclude Jennifer for her attempt at flirting with the blonde guy she's sending a seductive smile with. So I silently took a seat without a fuss.
