THE first thing that Malakai noticed when she roused from slumber was the pain at the back of her head. She grimaced. Her eyes snapped open when she was unable to move her hand. Darkness welcomed her vision. The minimal light coming from the small window was the only illumination she gets to see her current situation. Aside from the chair where she was tied into, there was no other furniture in the small room. There was only one way out of this place and that was the single door. She never knew if the house has several floors since she cannot distinguish any sound outside. The sad part of the circumstance was, the chair that she was tied into was made of wood.
