In a world, far beyond the world, there were clouds around and the houses were built in white and gold. They were people dressed in white armor, holding spears and keeping guard. A man cladded in white robe ran to a towering mansion and knocked heavily on the door, he was soon summoned in by a deep voice.
He pushed open the heavy the door and as he stepped in, he went on his knees instantly in front of the man sitting in a front of a short-legged desk. “Forgive my intrusion, My Lord, but I bring you grave news.”
The man had long black hair and a thunderbolt was drawn on his forehead. He was cladded in a white robe with thunderbolts embroidered on the hems. He was writing with a quill and his hand paused on hearing what the man said. “Well, be out with it.” He ordered. Everything about him radiated authority and the man kneeling in front of him trembled and bowed on the floor.
“My Lord, eight days ago, we sensed an unrest on the Eastwood Mountain.”
The man’s hand shook and he paused on his way of dipping his quill in the ink.
Sensing the murderous aura coming from the man, the servant gulped and placed his head on the floor just so he wouldn’t see his face. “I sent men to go investigate and they just returned now to report to me that the cave has been unsealed.”
“WHAT?!” The man’s voice thundered and a thunder roared outside in the sky, making everyone outside glance at the mansion and feel fear and pity on whoever was at the receiving end of that anger.
“I am sorry, my Lord,” the servant cried, wishing he wouldn’t lose his life there.
“And the coffin?” The man asked calmly this time.
“Still intact, my Lord.”
The man heaved a sigh of relief. “Who unsealed the cave?”
“It was one of Goddess Selene's creatures.”
“Only we gods can unseal the cave, so tell me how can a measly creature of Selene unseal it?”
“It was the very one that killed Goddess Aspa.”
The man growled and instantly teleported out of there. Making the servant heave a long sigh of relief that he was able to survive the report.
The man appeared in front of a mansion beautifully decorated with flowers —all kinds of flowers. The servants there were women and they were clothed in green leaves and their hairs were decorated with flowers and tiny crescent moons. They all panicked on seeing the man enter but still bowed in respect as he strode past them. Seeing him enter their lady’s drawing room, they sighed and wondered what his business for visiting was now.
“My, my, my, Ramiel, to what do I owe this pleasure of seeing the god of thunder?” A woman lying lazily on a chaise longue asked. When the man did not respond, she got up and looked at him. Her face was as peerless as a beautiful diamond and her eyes as blue as the deep ocean. Her skin was white and glistening. There was a drawing of a red-shaped heart on her forehead and a crown made out of red roses and crescent moon shapes was sitting pretty on her head of long, flowing golden hair. She was dressed in a red robe and she gently walked down the stairs to meet the man. “You wanted to see me, here I am,” she smiled, her voice so enchanting, just like her name, Love.
“Have you any idea of what is happening on earth now?” Ramiel asked, in as much as her beauty was one to die for, he needed to stay focused and settle the issue on hand.
“No,” Selene said. “As you saw, I was lazing around my days like I have been doing for ages.”
“The cave has been unsealed.”
Selene looked genuinely confused. “What cave?”
“Alaric’s cave,” Ramiel said, slightly annoyed. He waited for the shock to appear in her beautiful blue eyes but what he got were smiling eyes. “Do not tell me you are happy with this news.”
“Oh but I am, Ramiel. It means the time has come.”
“What time?”
“The time to find him a mate. I have always longed to find a mate for dear Alaric.”
“Alas, he is not one of your creatures, you cannot assign him a mate.” Ramiel said and his words dampened the beautiful woman’s mood. “Have you forgotten? He is a demon; the Almighty is the one that gives them their mates. Your duty is to make them find love with their chosen mate.”
“Aye, aye,” Selene chuckled. “Now, who do you think our dear Alaric shall choose? Who do you think he shall find interesting? Or rather, who do you think the Almighty shall give him? I need to start working on my cupid bow.” She giggled. “But alas, it does not work that way. The moment he finds her, my love flows from me into them.” She turned to go back to her chaise longue.
“Have you not forgotten something, Selene?” Ramiel asked, not happy with how lightly the woman was treating the news.
Selene turned back to him. “I believe I have, is there something I should know, Ramiel?”
“Alaric is cast out, he is a god killer and the Almighty agreed that he should be buried. For ten thousand years he has been in that cave and in that cave shall he remain for all eternity. Only his mate can free him from that coffin with her blood and since his kind remain frozen till this day, tell me whose blood shall free him?”
Selene’s eyes widened in understanding as she had actually forgotten about that fact. “Then probably Haziah had released them from his ice?”
“Haziah will never lift his ice without my permission.”
“Then who unsealed the cave? Only we gods can unseal the cave and since its like this, then it is the Almighty. And since it was the Almighty, it can only mean that he has found a mate for him and had unsealed the cave for her to wake him up.”
This time, Ramiel smiled mockingly. “It was not the Almighty that unsealed the cave.”
“Then who?” Selene frowned.
“It was one of your creatures.” He folded his arms on his chest.
“My creatures cannot unseal the cave, what on earth are you…” She paused, her eyes widening in realization. “Unless Asher. Having half of Aspa’s power has made him a half-god, only he on earth can unseal the cave.”
“Exactly,” Ramiel said, his anger returning now. “Do you know what this means, Selene? Not only was he not punished for killing Aspa, now he has unsealed Alaric’s cave. He is wreaking the world.”
“Oh please. I am pretty sure he had no idea what he was doing. He saw a cave in the mountain and dug through, how did you expect him to know he was unsealing it when it was actually the power in him that did it?”
“Of course, you were going to support him. What was I expecting?”
“He is my son, of course I shall protect him.”
“You do know that he has committed the same sin as Alaric and should be in the same situation as him. He is a god killer, Selene.”
“Oh please, Aspa wanted to rule the world, she wanted to use him, she manipulated him.
He only fought back to protect himself and thereby save the world. Is that not why the Almighty had refused you punishing him? Before you could get to earth with your angelic warriors, he has already saved the world for you, freeing those human souls and now they have all reincarnated.”
“He still should not have killed Aspa in the first place.”
“Then tell me, Ramiel, what were you planning to do when you got to earth?”
“To apprehend her of course.”
“And what difference did it make apprehending her ten thousand years ago? She was released from the underworld five thousand years ago and even with only half her powers, she almost ruined the world. Asher did what you could not do, he rid the world of Aspa’s black heart. Even the Almighty knew this, hence why he forbade you from treating him the way you treated Alaric. And now, I know you are just looking for a reason to hurt him. But mark my world Alaric, Asher is innocent. All you just have to do is go back and seal the cave.”
“Of course, I will do that, but I will be paying him a visit.”
“Do not hurt Asher, Ramiel, the Almighty forbade you to.”
“The Almighty forbade me from hurting him on Aspa’s case, not on unsealing the cave and nearly unleashing the god killer. I am only carrying out my duty to ensure peace in creation, so do not interfere.” And he turned to walk away.
“Ramiel, do not hurt Asher, he is innocent!” Selene yelled but the man was long gone.
