“High Alpha, the cops beat us to it,” a man said from the phone, and Asher cursed.
“They are still there?” He asked.
“Yes, Alpha. What should we do now?”
Asher sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. He stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window. “Any survival?”
“A man. He looked pretty shaken up. I think they are holding him as a witness.”
Asher instantly remembered about Mariah’s words. “What are the cops doing now?”
“I think they are trying to get the CCTV footage. They have already sealed the area. They are talking it could be a bear attack but there was no sign of a bear or anything.”
