CHAPTER TWENTY THREE “Jenny,” his voice was soft. “W-what are you doing here Ben?” I questioned hesitantly. He was the last person I expected would come knocking at my door this early in the morning or any other time for that matter. After the love confession fiasco, I thought out ties had forever been severed. How the hell was I supposed to get over the fact that my best friend was actually in love with me and I didn’t feel an inkling of the same? “To apologize and probably talk you into getting a smoothie with me in between work today,” He worked up a slight smile. “Ap-pologize,” I echoed his words, trying to stop my racing heart. I hated the fact that I could not stop stuttering or the fact that the person I was so open with once, was now the person I felt the most uncom
