Ariel and Lisa sat on the couch, their eyes fixed on the TV screen as they watched the news anchor deliver the breaking news.
“Monica and her father, Victor, have been arrested last night and charged with various crimes, including murder and conspiracy.”
Ariel let out a sigh of relief, her shoulders relaxing as she leaned back into the couch.
“It’s finally over,” she said, turning to Lisa with a smile.
Lisa nodded, her eyes still fixed on the TV screen.
“I know, it’s like a weight has been lifted off our shoulders.”
