Gabriel, Rose, Helix, and Stella stand behind them looking guilty. Stella mouths out ‘sorry, you were too loud’ to Nova.
Helix scratches his head. “We tried to stop them.” He says to us.
My father stares at me and he looks furious. “You found your mate and you didn’t say a thing?” His voice is low. I don’t dare speak.
He looks at Nova examining her. “And you haven’t even marked her? It’s been weeks since she turned eighteen!” He shouts.
“I don’t want to be marked” Nova says.
“You don’t want to be marked? But you are mates!” He shouts but Nova doesn’t even flinch.
“I don’t want him as my mate and he doesn't want me as his.” She says.
