Alexandra Volkov brought me to the wing of the Royals. It’s high above the other levels of the castle and almost completely abandoned. It served its purpose though, we were far away from everyone else. “Our mother had this wing built when we were born.” Alexandra explains with a small smile. “She wanted us away from everyone else.” Instead of paintings and gorgeous murals of the royal family, the walls here are full of baby pictures of the two Volkov siblings and pictures of the retired Queen hugging her mate, the Russian Alpha. The lower part of the marble walls had doodles and crayon writings all around. It was the only imperfect and informal part of the castle and I loved it.
