They kept Astrea in the dungeons for days. Food and water were lessened in an attempt to weaken her but they didn’t know that I would visit her every night. I’d have all her food and all the drinks she could ever want to eat and drink. I had the kitchen working overtime to get all the pastries, breads, meats and soups ready for when the guard changed shifts and I could slip through. I would sit with her the entire night until the sun rose up in the sky. She wouldn’t always stay awake but I would. She would sleep on my lap as I brushed back her hair, kissing her cheeks, rubbing the soreness of her wrists that were red and blistering from the silver. It hurt seeing her inside that blasted cell made of silver. She was pale from lack of sunlight, crusty and dirty from a bath that wasn’t allow
