Sophia’s due date was a few weeks away, and at her last doctor's appointment, the doctor had said she hadn’t started to dilate yet. So when Gears said he needed me to go with him to California and help with his sister, I didn’t hesitate. Sophia was pissed, and I knew it. But we wouldn’t be gone for long, and I was sure I would have plenty of time before she went into labor. How wrong was I? I will spend the rest of my life making it up to her.
