Chapter 13 Still in his pajamas, Philip came running up to the entrance. “How come you’re leaving?” he asked Tristan. “How come you aren’t dressed yet?” Tristan peered over Philip’s shoulder at the hall. “Rain, baby,” he yelled, “what are you doing back there?” He looked down at Philip. “What’s Daddy doing?” “Making marionettes talk.” Tristan hesitated. “All right. Well, I gotta go. Your dad’s gonna be here any minute. Go get dressed.” He looked at the hallway again. “Rain, I’m leaving,” he called out.
