Maggie hears the door open again, and she opens her eyes.
“Hi, before you shout at me … I’m still your emergency contact. The hospital called me.” The intolerable machine behind her head starts beeping at the sight of Mason in her room.
“LEAVE!”
“Margaret, please. They told me what happened. I just wanted to see that you were okay.”
She finds the strength from somewhere and grabs one of her pillows, throwing it in his direction, but it hits her mom by accident when she comes in.
Mason makes a feeble excuse about seeing her later and disappears.

“Mason!” Mateo hears Max grumble. “What the hell is that bastard doing here?” Max still refuses to leave, and Mateo follows the direction in which she is looking.
“Maggie’s Mason?”
“One and the same!” Max jumps out of the chair and Mate
