I wasn't expecting Lily to come into my office and bring me another takeaway meal.
"Aww, thank you," I said, appreciating her thoughtfulness. Although the company's meals were free, an extra meal cost about $1000.
"You're my new friend, Eva. I was shocked to see Mary slap you like that. She's so full of herself, and I'm sure it's because she wants the boss to notice her. And now that he brought his fiancée over, she took her anger out on you," Lily explained, and I smiled sadly.
