{Eva's POV}
When I went into the human resources office, I was taken aback to see Layla Parker there too, in the office and waiting for her interview.
"What? Eva, what are you doing here?" Layla asked me in shock, but seeing that there were some other applicants and the staff who were around, she kept her voice lowered and offered me a tight smile.
Seeing Layla in this office reminded me of her betrayal and how she had lured me into breaking up with Jacob. If I hadn't needed this job, I could have attacked Layla right then and given her a resounding slap on her left cheek.
Layla wore a white shirt, a black straight skirt, and black shoes as she held her handbag in her hand. We were course mates, but I wouldn't have thought that she was a snitch like Cruz had warned me about.
