Chapter 6. Amelia walked into the living room to meet her father. “You took so long.” Mr. Austin closed the magazine, and she gulped down nothing. “Yes, Dad… I…” “Where is the textbook?” “The textbook,” Amelia asked, and her father stared at her suspiciously. “Oh… the textbook… she only used that as an avenue to get me to meet her. She wanted me to help her explain a few things.” Amelia lied, scratching the back of her neck, and her father nodded hesitantly. “Breakfast is ready.” “Okay, Dad… I will just have mine.” “That’s fine. Do you have lectures today?” “No.” She replied gently, and he nodded. “That means you will be home all day?” “Yes, Dad.” “That’s fair. I got a call from the station regarding my relocation, and I would need to attend to work.” “Okay, Dad…” “Stay in and be a good girl, okay?” Amelia nodded her head and watched as her father gripped the car keys, storming out of the house. A smile appeared at the side of her lips, and she jumped up excitedly. Her index finger found her curly hair, and she wrapped it around her fingers, displaying a few dance moves. “Seems like luck is on your side again,” she giggled and swayed her waist to the dining room. She took a seat at the dining and ate hungrily from her meal. She didn’t have the time to enjoy her meal like she wanted. A few minutes later, she was done with her food. She dashed into her room and placed a call to Megan. “Hey, Amelia,” Megan picked up on the first ring. “Guess what, bestie…” “Your daddy is letting you attend the party.” Amelia rolled her eyes. “Your guesses are always wrong, you know. Tell me when that man ever allows me to go out willingly. Well, he stepped out, and I am going to use that to my advantage.” “Really?” Megan exclaimed. “I am so happy, girl! I would send you a dress right away.” “You do not have to worry, Megan, I will find my way around it.” “I insist.” Megan cut her off, and Amelia chuckled. “You’re acting like you’re planning to betroth me to your brother.” “If only that motherfucker keeps one woman.” Amelia smiled at Megan’s words. She already had someone else in mind, and even though he appeared to be a dickhead whose c**k slipped in and out of all p***y, she still wanted him. She would accept Megan’s brother if he was hardcore and not his replica. “I will get going,” Amelia informed, dropping the call. She smiled softly and dashed into the bathroom. ********* Open your eyes,” Megan urged, and Amelia opened her eyes slowly to meet the reflection in the mirror. “Oh my, Megan, look at me!” she exclaimed, staring at the light makeup that transformed her into the better version of her actual self. Her pale skin was now pink with just the right amount of blush. Her dark hair in a loose twist sat on top of her head, with some silver glittering in it, making her look almost angelic when the light shone through. The red lipstick complemented her eyes and had somehow changed to an even darker shade that contrasted with her natural golden tone, highlighting her eyes to perfection. It was almost as if she looked like some sort of model or something. It felt unreal how perfect she looked, and she didn’t even want to get up. Amelia stood up, and the first thing she noticed was the snatched shape of her hourglass figure. She looked at herself for what seemed like forever, then at her clothes. They seemed to fit her perfectly, as if they belonged there. The red, slightly slitted dress hugged every curve of her body, making her seem fuller and relieved her thighs, presenting her as more feminine than before. “Oh, Megan, you always treat me like a princess,” she muttered emotionally, and Megan gave her a sly look. “Do not start with being emotional. You need to get a man, and that’s why I am glamming you up this way, nothing more.” Amelia smiled and blinked back the tears burning her eyes. She did find a sister. “You should get dressed,” Amelia suggested, and Megan scoffed. “That’s the same as wasting time. This is my brother’s welcome party, Amelia. I do not need all of that. And you know I already have my eyes on Jackson, so there isn’t a need for that.” Amelia nodded her head and waited for the announcement of the party. While they waited, they talked about a few unproductive things. It was finally time for the party. Amelia and Megan walked hand in hand into the party hall. The air was filled with soft music, and everyone took their seat with their partner or relative at the table of four present in the room. Amelia’s eyes scanned everywhere. It looked like a wedding hall, and the golden décor that shone by the magnitude of the light made her wonder how precious this person was to deserve this grand introduction. “Let’s take a seat there.” Megan pulled the lost Amelia to a table of two. There were a few other tables of two, and Amelia affirmed they were probably chairs for couples. While they seated and enjoyed the beautiful cool music that played in the air, Amelia witnessed the life of the rich. She was not from a rich home, and she had never organized any party or witnessed the presence of such higher calibers. The dressing of everyone screamed billionaire, and now she understood clearly why Megan insisted on making her up and dressing her. She was from an average home, and her busy father paid less attention to things like this. Even though Amelia was an introvert, she could bet that all of this happened thanks to her daddy. She wanted to explore the world, and she had that encounter with her ex. He was dangerous, eventually, and at some point, Amelia saw a reason why her father made her a house warm. It was safer and attracted less noise. “Are you enjoying the view?” Megan asked happily, and Amelia nodded, flashing her a smile. “The view is really beautiful, Megan, and the people here seem really rich.” “Wealthy,” Megan corrected, passing her a drink. “You know, Maximo is a full-time Zillionaire, and for the time being, he is the only recorded Zillionaire. He is not after our family’s wealth. The welcome party is just to welcome him back because my father had always wanted that, and to also announce him as the upcoming mafia Lord.” “Won’t that be risky?” Amelia inquired, concerned, while Megan let out a soft chuckle. “Not at all, Amelia. Every single person here is Mafia, and the few that aren’t have less concern with what people choose to do with their lives.” Amelia made to talk, but the voice in the air snapped her mouth closed.
