100 ~Velma’s POV She looked at me then. And for the briefest moment, the anger faltered. I adjusted my bag on my shoulder and turned toward the door again. “This conversation isn’t mine to finish,” I said. “Whatever this is between you two, keep it there.” I reached for the handle. Behind me, her voice followed, smaller now but still sharp. “You don’t just walk away.” I paused, my hand resting on the door. “I do,” I said softly. “That’s how I survived.” Then I opened the door and left, not looking back, letting their unfinished mess close behind me.
