I can’t spend the night with Ava again.
Between Amelia’s recounting of what happened during the reconciliatory dinner and Ava’s blatant denial of every accusation, I don’t know who to believe.
How much is Amelia misinterpreting the situation due to not understanding werewolf culture and customs? How much of her perspective is skewed from fear? How much is she faking in an attempt to escape being my pet?
Then again, I clearly heard Ava conspiring against my pet last night when I approached her and her friends around their campfire. I can tell she’s jealous of Amelia. I know she is unhappy.
The part that’s the hardest is not being uncertain of who to trust. The hardest part is the realization that I wouldn’t be surprised to find out my mate is lying to me.
So I cannot join Ava
