Stephanie hadn’t invited any men that she’d slept with to this luncheon, other than George. That only two of the dozen guests were women simply told how little men understood who was the true power behind their thrones. These were the political and the food elite of the city.
She needed the latter for two reasons. First was so that they could let the political guests know that this was Thomas Keller’s catering and quite how big a deal it was. The second reason was that she intended to recruit the Food Network’s program director to take over as president of Cooks Network after Dino left the Starks destitute. At this luncheon the program director would see the power she wielded so easily and would not turn down her invitation; he wouldn’t dare by the time she was done with him.
