. . . DANTE I stood frozen in the kitchen, the sting of her rejection cutting deep. She had shaken her head, refusing my touch, and her words—accusing me of some unknown plan—echoed in my mind. As I walked away, I cursed under my breath, running a hand through my hair in frustration. I was somewhere embarrassed of the rejection but the thing that irritated me was her accusation of me planning. I had begun to feel an undeniable attraction towards her, but her abrupt dismissal left me reeling. I couldn’t believe it. I was frustrated that I let my feelings get in with my work.
