The morning was perfect. Clear skies stretched endlessly above, dotted with soft clouds that looked like cotton candy. A light breeze rustled the trees, which carried the faint scent of wildflowers. As I parked my car near the launch site, my heart raced with a mixture of excitement and nerves.
