“Are you going to tell me where we are going?” I asked, unable to hide my curiosity. Brendan chuckled as he kept his eyes on the road.
“It’s a surprise, Meg,” he answered, and I groaned as I looked out of the window. The early morning sunlight hit the view just right, and I couldn’t help but enjoy the trip despite the fact that I wasn’t very good with surprises. The quiet country road with trees on either side formed a tunnel of green. It was so surreal, and the gentle breeze rustled the leaves. It felt as if we were somewhere else. Somewhere almost magical.
“You know I am not good with surprises, Brendan,” I said as I glanced back over at him.
