“Hey guys,” I said as I sat down at the table across from Amy and Casey. “It’s a beautiful night, isn’t it?” I asked. I wasn’t actually expecting an answer though. Since New Year’s Eve, everything had changed.
“It is…” Casey agreed with a knowing smile. It was extremely clear to my two best friends that I was happy. Finally. I had finished decorating my new apartment. Luna was happy. I was happy. And even Brendan was happy. He had left fairly quickly for Asher Valley, but we had promised to stay friends. I wasn’t sure if we would, but it didn’t matter. I was free.
“You look great, Megan,” Amy remarked, and I smirked as I looked at her. She had recently given birth to a beautiful baby girl, who they named Jayden.
