The gym buzzed with energy as participants filled the main floor, each one ready to tackle the charity fitness event I had spent days organizing. Bright banners hung from the walls, emblazoned with slogans like ‘Lift for a Cause’ and ‘Stronger Together’. Tables lined the edges of the room, which showcased raffle prizes, sponsor logos, and stacks of donation forms. The air was charged with excitement, but underneath my confident exterior, I felt an emptiness I just couldn’t shake.
“This is all you, man,” Caleb said, as he clapped me on the back, and he passed me a clipboard. “You have outdone yourself,” I nodded as I offered him a tight smile.
