Aiden’s POV
“GET DOWN!!” I shout out immediately as the General unloads his weapon inside the room.
The sound of gun shots hits my eardrums like individual bombs going off in quick succession.
In moments like these a split second can seem like a lifetime.
I watch as the bullets begin to pelt into the people around the room.
More than one of the General’s men are hit, falling to the ground under the force of the gun shot.
Then my eyes find the next target and I don’t even have time to shout out in warning before Jace is hit and plummets backwards to the floor. It is then that his attention turns to me as his body swings around towards my direction, his gun ready to fire.
I don’t waste a millisecond, taking to my heels and running towards him at full speed.
