“I didn’t know.” his voice says softly from behind me. “I didn’t know.”
I close my eyes and can’t help the tears from falling, all of the feelings I have been keeping inside finally ready to make themselves known to him.
I turn around slowly to see his eyes watching me so full of love and compassion. Relief washes over me like a soothing balm for the soul. I couldn’t bare the thought of him thinking badly of me. Of him thinking that I was choosing Eric over him but that’s over now. He knows, he knows and he is here. With me.
