Chapter 38 - The Wake- Up Call
Emily's POV
Another day, the same old me hiding in her room after doing some of my PA work for Thomas. He has been kind enough to allow me to work from the comfort of my room, and I have been greedily taking advantage of that. I'll milk it for as long as I can, or more like until the whole Le Blanc family grows tired of me mooching off them and finally kicks me out. To be honest, I wouldn't blame them. I have been nothing but a pain lately, and I haven't taken any steps to better myself. I know I should, I know I need to just move on and enjoy my freedom and not feel guilty, but I just can't. I still feel like something's holding me back, fear maybe.
The bedroom door opening, not even a second after I heard brisk knocking, made me curse under my breath. f*
