That evening, I and Caleb had dinner outside, at one of our favourite local Chinese restaurants. It felt unreal to be out there without having to look over your shoulder at all times or have security surrounding you. Caleb was still stiff at the beginning of the evening, afraid of letting go and putting his guard down, of being reckless, but by the time we had dinner, he was done worrying too. It had been a long time since we did this, and not just because of Chuck or Rebecca.
