Landen and I banded into a circle, each of us facing the men around us. They were heavily armed with different weapons but mostly swords. No firearmin sight. Good. That would make my work easier. I should have known this was going to happen. I had sensed it. "Who is your leader here?* I demanded, my voice cutting through the chaos like steel. I already knew who he was, but I wanted him to say it. He stood out towering over the rest, muscles taut beneath his armor, with a long chonmage that swayed like a black banner of defiance. The rogue shifted around him, their sharks quieting. "Who wants to know?"
