Suke’s Point of View
“Ladies first” I held the portal open for Dylan and Kai.
“Thank you, Suke,” Kai smiled at me. “It’s not everyday that someone as old as I am experiences something new. It was nice of Helena to grant me access to the portals.”
“Why wouldn’t she? Helena is very fond of strong woman, the whole queen thing” I smiled back at her. “Everybody ready?”
“Yep” Dylan double checked that she had everything she needed.
“Then away we go.” If either of them was anxious they hid it well, the three of us made small talk on the way to Baez’s.
“Thanks for coming, Kai. As you can see coming here wasn’t anyone’s idea of a good time” Dylan said genuinely. My plan was to stay out of the way as much as possible so they could have a chance to bond a bit more.
