Since Jacob doesn’t expect I’d push him hard, he loses his balance and falls to my left. I immediately scoot and stand up from the bed. I hurriedly walk to the door, but the key’s not there. Then I feel two hands on my waist.
“You can’t go anywhere before I finish talking with you, Valentina.”
I turn my body and glare at Jacob. “So, you want to force me now.”
“Valentina, how many times I should explain to you. My hands are tied. I can’t do anything to disobey the Doctor.”
“Then we have nothing to talk about anymore.” I stare at him. “Open the door!”
“Valentina, I’ll do anything for you if you forgive me.”
“Anything?” I ask.
“Anything.” Jacob walks closer, and then he stares at me gently. “I don’t lie when I said I loved you, Valentina.” He sighs. “Even the Doctor knows about it.”
