I moved out, having sorted us all into groups. I stayed with the Blue River warriors, mainly because they were the only men I trusted. I still did not like the games that Zeek kept playing, and until he stopped playing those games, I was not going to trust him. He was not the alpha but tried to bluff his way around it.
Even Peggy had rolled her eyes a few times, and I felt that if things went badly, she would step in and take over. The men and their stupid pride, though it made no difference to us who was the alpha, as long as someone took the lead. That was all the men needed, and that is why the Blue River warriors stuck to us too. They knew Madison and I would not lead them astray and I would have their backs too, if it came down to a fight.
