The fighting seemed to be going our way, but it felt wrong somehow. I was not sure why I had this odd feeling that something else was being hatched. The first wave was weak and was over very quickly, the second wave was a little stronger. Will there be a third wave? I was missing something, but I could not think what it was. This madman had something more going on, and it was more than sending warriors to their deaths. Was he trying us out, seeing how strong we were, wearing us down, and then sending the strongest group at us when we were tired and had a long enough break between us for us to have our guard down? Is he smart enough to try that?
