HELENA POV I came back to consciousness already fighting. Not gently waking. Not drifting up from sleep. Fighting. My lungs dragged in air like I had been drowning, my chest tight and aching as if something had been pressing on it for too long. My hands clenched into fists before my eyes even opened, my body bracing for impact that didn’t come. The first thing I felt was wrongness.
