HELENA POV *Killer looks - just pete* Medina went down in a pool of dark blood. I saw it happening in my peripheral vision, when I was making my way toward the king. Pain cut straight through me and stayed there, lodged under my ribs, vibrating in places it didn’t belong. I turned in slow motion. I knew it the instant my eyes found her, and the knowledge felt like something sinking its teeth into my spine. She was on the rocks near the edge of the falls, blood already spreading beneath her, and the wooden spike jutted from her chest at a wrong angle.
