Chapter 4 - Caught

Evangeline I wiped the off the mist on the mirror above the sink to look at myself. Staring at my reflection I dried my hair. How did I end up here? I thought to myself as a lone tear slid down my cheek. I sighed and wiped it away, before wrapping myself in the light pink bathrobe that hung on one of the fixed hangers on the bathroom door. I exited the bathroom and made my way inside the closet. I couldn't help but gape at the sight in front of me. It was huge, even larger than the bedroom itself. Now to most people that would seem weird and stupid, but for me, it was something I had always wanted. It was beyond perfect and had the clothes and shoes of all my favorite brands. There was also a stunning dressing table at the center, covered with cosmetics and jewelry. At first I hesitated to pick an outfit as they were all too expensive, but then it just hit me that if all of that stuff was bought for me anyway, why not use it? They were all my favorite items. So I decided to choose an outfit. I picked a gray colored sweatshirt with denim jeans and paired it with white converse. After applying a bit of make-up to make my swollen eyes (from all the crying) look a little bearable, I tied my hair in a messy bun and exited the closet. I huffed and plopped down on the King sized bed. I was confused whether I should go out or whether I should stay inside the room. I could try to find an escape and succeed but I could also end up getting lost in the castle-sized mansion only to be caught by Lars again. However, I decided to go anyway. I quietly opened the door, and crept out. I made my way through the countless hallways taking random turns, and as I had already expected, I did get lost. This is ridiculous! I got lost twice in the last 24 hours, and right now, I'm lost in a house! I mean who gets lost in a house?! I tried my best to find the stairs, or maybe an exit, but failed miserably. After a few minutes, I saw a glass door in one of the rooms while passing through a hallway. There was a huge garden behind it. That could be an escape! My mind screamed at me as I bolted towards the door. At that moment I didn't realize that I was on the first floor so that was probably a balcony that was taunting me and looking like an exit. "What do you think you're doing?" A deep voice suddenly said from behind me, while I was trying to unlock the door, making me jump as I gasped. I quickly moved away from the door and my eyes grew wide, as I turned around to see my kidnapper standing there, his back leaning against the door of the room. He had his arms crossed above his chest and had a blank expression, impossible to decipher. I felt my legs tremble, as my heartbeat paced. "I...I go-got lost." I stuttered. He started walking towards me, his hands now in his pockets. I backed away from him, as he kept on walking towards me, but my back soon hit the wall and I noticed that I was in the corner of the room. He took another step towards me, completely closing the space between us, and kept one of his hands on the wall, beside my head, but slightly higher than it. "Are you sure that was it?" He asked raising an eyebrow. "Ye-yes." I managed to squeak out. "Then what were you trying to do with that door?" He furrowed his brows, and it was very obvious that he was completely aware of what I was doing. He was just feigning confusion. "I..." Was all I could say, not being able to think of anything else due to the position we were in. I gulped and shuddered, thinking of what he would do to me. What if he locks me up? What if he starts keeping me tied up?! Worst, what if he kills me for trying to escape? He could also t*****e me! Tears formed in my eyes as I thought about the consequences. "I know you were looking for an escape, Angel," he said, his calm tone scaring me further. At that moment it seemed like the calm before a storm. "So now you'll have to be punished." He said with an emotionless face. "Please don't hurt me, I won't try to escape again, I promise! Please don't kill me! I'll do anything you say!" I rambled trying to convince him to not hurt me. He paused for a second. "Anything?" He smirked, raising one eyebrow. "Yes," I stated, without thinking. "Then kiss me," he said with a smirk, as if it was nothing. I was shocked, my eyes widened and my mouth gaped as I stared at him in disbelief and terror. I gulped and looked at his lips, the thought of kissing him made me blush even though I was so scared right now. "What do you m-mean?" I tried to say confidently, but stuttered at the end. Instead of replying, he started leaning in. I put my hands forward in an attempt to push him away, but he caught hold of my wrists and pinned them above my head using only one of his hands. I was completely helpless. There was nothing I could do except for praying. He kept on leaning in and I closed my eyes shut and turned my face to the side. *****
