Evangeline
The next day, I managed to wake up early and did as Lars had told me to. I dressed up nicely, applied make-up, and looked pretty overall. However nothing really happened, and the day went by as normal as it could given that I had been kidn*pped.
However in the evening, Lars came to my room.
"Come on Angel, it's time."
"Time for what?"
"Meeting the one,"
"What do you mean by 'the one'?" I asked, giving him a puzzled look.
"Follow me Angel," he said and walked out of the room with me following behind him. We went down the stairs and were now in the main hall or living room or whatever you would call it. Lars stood there quietly and looked at the main door. I too, chose to remain silent and started staring at the door trying to make out what he was looking at. Suddenly the door clicked and opened. I looked at Lars who was now smiling brightly and a guy soon entered the house. Lars immediately went and bro-hugged him like they were the best of buddies, blocking my view of the guy's face. After their hug, Lars moved out of the way and they both walked towards me.
"So Angel, meet Caleb Jackson. Caleb, here's your Evangeline," Lars introduced and I was taken aback at the word 'your'.
What did he mean? I then looked at the guy properly and he was good looking. He was wearing a black half-sleeved T-shirt and his body was well built. He was slightly shorter than Lars, but still a lot taller than I was. His hair was a dirty, sandy blonde in color and his eyes were forest green. Light stubble littered his jawline and I could not spot any tattoos on his body. He looked around the same age as Lars, a bit older than I was. He was hot, but Lars was definitely hotter.
"Hey, Eva," Caleb said with a warm smile. I stood there silent, not greeting him back.
I shifted my gaze to Lars, who definitely did not look happy by my reaction, and so I cleared my throat and replied, "Hi?"
"You are the most stunning and captivating girl I've seen. Seriously, you are a complete beauty!" Caleb said, surprising me. I looked at him with wide eyes and mouth agape, and he continued, "The moment I laid my eyes on you, I knew I wanted you. You were the right girl for me, so I asked Lars here, to kidnap you and bring you to me." He said it like it was absolutely normal to have your friend kidnap a girl. Like, what the freak is wrong with him?! Is he crazy or what? A hundred points for honesty, but why would he even tell me that?
I stood there frozen, not knowing how to respond. A wave of fear ran through me, and my body started trembling.
If he kidn*pped me because he likes me, he might never let me go! My heart dropped at the thought and tears started to roll down my cheeks. I took a step back and covered my mouth with my hand trying to stop my sobs.
"Hey, you okay? What's wrong?" Caleb asked taking a step forward, shocked at my reaction. I quickly took a step back.
"I think I should leave you two alone to talk," Lars said, "Explain to her how much she means to you, and how you would do anything to make her happy," he whispered in Caleb's ear, but he spoke louder than he thought he did and I heard him. He then left the room after giving Caleb a reassuring smile, leaving us alone.
"I love you," Caleb said to me, while walking towards me, and I walked backwards to get away from him. "Don't be scared of me, I didn't kidnap you!" He said, slightly raising his voice.
"It's the same thing! Your'e crazy!" I whispered through my cries, but loud enough for him to hear me.
"It most definitely is not!" He replied, his tone harsh and angry. "And yes, I'm crazy. About you, Eva."
I didn't reply and kept on walking backwards as he walked forward. Very soon, my legs hit the sofa and I fell on it. Caleb smirked and climbed on the sofa, hovering over me. I stared at him wide-eyed as he started leaning in. I tried to push him away, but he held my hands on either side of me and continued to lean in.
"Help!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, hoping that someone would get me out of this situation.
Lars
I was in the kitchen, searching through the cabinets for Cheetos. I was hoping Angel would accept Caleb, he really likes her. I would never have agreed to kidnap an innocent girl, but Caleb said he had fallen head over heels for her. And then he had shown me his puppy dog eyes, not that I'm a huge fan of puppies or anything, but I agreed because Caleb's just like my brother. Okay, there was another reason too but I don't like to think about it. Caleb, Noah, Leon and Slade, they're all like my brothers. They've always supported me through thick and thin, like when my parents got divorced, they were there for me and then when my mum died, Noah's mother acted like a mother to me. My dad? I don't know where he is. Rotting in hell I hope. One might be wondering where all this money came from? Well, it's my mother's. I don't even know why she married my dad, though I can't really complain or else I wouldn't be here today. Okay, enough about me.
So I was searching for the chips, which had magically disappeared, when I heard a loud scream. "Help!" The voice yelled desperately. I immediately recognized whose voice that was and my whole body tensed up. Why is she screaming for help? I quickly bolted out of the kitchen to the main hall, where I had left her with Caleb. As soon as I entered the room, I saw the worst thing happening.
I balled my fists and a sudden wave of anger was flowing through me. Angel was on the couch, and Caleb was hovering over her, holding her hands on either side of her, trying to kiss her without her will. Mind you, when I did that, I had no real intention of kissing her, partly because my best buddy was 'in love' with her, but mainly because that's not something I support. I might be a rich spoilt guy, a complete asshole, but I am not some sick, r****t bastard who'd force himself onto a girl. All I did was to scare her. Caleb, however, was serious, and he was actually about to force her into it.
I dashed towards him, and grabbed his T-shirt from the back, ripping him off of her. Angel was crying, and I had a sudden fit of anger seeing her in tears. I forgot everything, and threw a punch at Caleb's face, hitting his lips which started bleeding at once. He wiped the blood on his lip, still shocked at my sudden outburst. I've never ever hit him in my life.
"What the hell, man?" He asked, and confusion as well as anger shone in his eyes.
"Is this how you show a girl affection?! By forcing yourself on her?" I yelled, infuriated.
"You just hit me for a girl?" He spat, completely taken aback.
"I kidn*pped the poor thing for you, you piece of s**t!" I yelled and threw myself onto him, making him fall to the ground. I threw countless punches on his face, and he threw some back at me which I easily dodged. His eye was now becoming blue, and he had bruises all over his face. I don't know what had suddenly crept into me that I went all crazy. I was about to punch him again, when I heard someone gasp, which made me stop. I turned my head to see Angel with a hand on her mouth, tears flowing uncontrollably from her eyes. I then noticed that her top was a bit torn at the waist. I stood up and grabbed Caleb by his collar, making him stand up.
"Get out," I stated.
"You're crazy, dude!" He yelled, pushed me, and went straight out of the house.
After he left, I turned my attention back to Angel who was now sitting on the floor, with her head in her knees, sobbing. I felt really guilty as I held myself responsible for her situation and walked slowly towards her. I picked up my jacket that was thrown carelessly on the table and knelt down beside her. I put it around her, and she looked up, her face stained with tears.
Evangeline
I felt dreadful. That guy tried to force himself on me. Tears were spilling uncontrollably from my eyes. My mind was conflicted regarding Lars. He had kidn*pped me, but he saved me from the worst thing that could happen. He beat up Caleb for me. Caleb had tried to hit him back, but he dodged him easily.
My top was torn, and I fell to the ground, and buried my head in my knees, sobbing loudly. I felt someone covering me with a jacket and I looked up to meet his gorgeous brown eyes. They were filled with guilt, pity and concern which were all directed to me. Our eyes locked and we stayed in the same position for what felt like forever. Tears were still falling from my eyes, but the world seemed to fade away... It felt like there was nothing else over there at that very moment; just him and me. He gently placed his hands on the top of my arms and we slowly stood up, our eyes still locked. He then put his arm around me and led me to my room again, his stunning brown eyes never leaving mine.
Once we were in the room, he led me to the bed and gently pushed me down, making me sit on it. He himself knelt down on the ground before me, and wiped away my tears using the pads of his thumbs. He took my hands in his large ones, gently rubbing his thumbs on the top of my fingers. His mesmerizing eyes were keeping mine captive. It was wrong, he was my kidnapper, but somehow it felt absolutely right. I never wanted to look away from his eyes.
"I'll make sure he falls to his knees and apologizes to you," he promised in a calm and gentle tone, "I'm so sorry for leaving you alone with him. I never thought he could do that to you," he whispered, his eyes showing nothing but sincerity and guilt.
"It's okay," I squeaked out, not knowing what else to say. I offered him a small smile which he returned.
"How long will I have to be here?" I asked him. I knew he felt bad for me so I decided to catch the opportunity. His hold on my hands suddenly became a bit tighter, but not enough to hurt me and his face suddenly became serious. Crap.
"Why do you wanna leave? Where will you even go?" He asked me, his expression one of pity. What?
"I miss my family, Lars! I'll go back home," I replied, raising my voice a bit.
"Your family? Home?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Yes, home." I replied, tears forming in my eyes.
"Woah woah woah, wait a second, you have a family?" He asked, letting go of my hands, leaning a bit backwards.
"Yes, I do! What did you think? I'm an orphan or something?!" I asked, anger now flowing through me.
"Shit." He mumbled, and stood up. He looked angry, furious actually. He had balled his fists and was breathing heavily, his teeth clenched. "That son of a b***h, he told me you had no family! No place to live in anyway! That your friends were all you had, and that you lived with one of them. That's why I agreed to kidnap you! I thought you had nothing to lose! I swear I'm going to kill him!" He yelled infuriatedly, as he ran a hand through his hair. Oh.
"If you knew I had a family, would you not have kidn*pped me?" I asked him, standing up.
"Of course not! Just because I drink, smoke and used to be involved in some mafia doesn't mean I go around k********g innocent, beautiful girls with nice families, okay?" He said, visibly frustrated.
Now what I should've caught on was the smoking, drinking, and involved in some mafia part, but what I caught was 'beautiful girls with nice families'. My heart skipped a beat and my face flushed. He thinks I'm beautiful?
"Really?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "I just told you I smoke, drink, and am involved in some gangs, and what you noticed was beautiful and started blushing? You've gotta be kidding me!" He tried to sound annoyed, but his eyes had a glint of amusement.
My eyes widened at his words. "I'm not blushing!" I scolded, cupping my cheeks to hide the redness. He shook his head at me sighed. See, this is what happens when you have a lack of male contact in life.
"Now what should I do with you?" He asked. I knew he wasn't actually asking me, but I still chose to reply.
"Let me suggest. How about you let me go?" I said with an innocent smile.
"Of course," he replied letting out a small chuckle.
"You're letting me go?" I asked shocked and surprised at the same time.
"No, I am most definitely not letting you go," he said. My heart dropped to my knees.
"Why?" I asked feeling dejected. He had no reason to keep me there anymore.
"Because, Angel, the last thing I want right now is a police investigation. I know you don't like me enough so as to not report me to the police, you know," he said as if he was stating something very obvious.
"You saved me from Caleb. I won't report my savior to the police." I stated, rolling my eyes. I was actually serious. If he would let me go at the moment, I wouldn't go to the police. I knew he had made a mistake and was tricked into doing this. Caleb, I would definitely report.
"How do I know that you're not lying?" He replied, raising an eyebrow.
"Umm... I promise. Pinky-promise!" I blurted out. That's what I do when I'm trying to convince people. I even stuck out my pinky for him so he could entangle it with his, and I could promise him properly. But all he did was burst out laughing.
"What?" I asked, my eyebrows furrowed. But he continued to laugh hysterically, not answering my question.
"What?!" I shouted. I was getting really worked up, even though his laugh was absolutely breathtaking.
"Oh man, you're so cute!" He said between his laughs, and gently pinched my cheek. I narrowed my eyes at him, even though a blush spread across my cheeks from embarrassment. I should've guessed that kidnappers don't believe in pinky promises.
"Stop laughing!" I demanded. Brave? I know. Even I don't know how I was getting all that courage to yell and shout at my kidnapper. Honestly, I think after he saved me from his psycho friend and told me he didn't know I had a loving family, I had started trusting him more and somehow felt he would never hurt me, at least not physically. He continued to laugh, so I pushed at his chest. He stumbled a bit (which I was shocked he did because the guy was a hulk and I was probably a mouse compared to him) but he didn't stop laughing. I pushed him again, this time successfully shutting him up.
"Did you just push me? Twice?" He asked raising an eyebrow, a smile was still spread across his lips though.
"Yes." I spat, annoyed.
"If I were you, I would not do that again, Angel," he challenged, smirking. Now I don't know what crept into me that I accepted his challenge and pushed him one more time - literally, the biggest mistake of my life. After the one where I went to that party, of course.
