Before laying down, I turned to Doctor Harris, who was gathering her tools for the ultrasound. “Tell me again why we can’t do a normal ultrasound.”
She offered me a reassuring smile. “There is a chance that you are too early into your pregnancy to determine how far along you are with traditional ultrasound. A vaginal ultrasound will allow us to determine the baby’s growth, and the heartbeat will be easier to find this way.”
