Easton is surprised at the go-ahead from his father. He can't believe that this little bit of information was not mentioned at any stage in the planning. The so-called foolproof plan seems to be full of flaws. He has already suffered greatly from the plan and is set to suffer more.
It doesn't matter if his father didn't think that at this moment he would actually be challenged. Easton feels like he should have been told that it was a minute possibility.
