Nadia Harrison was still in her room, wearing a sullen expression and unwilling to apply her makeup.
"Nadia! What has come over you?" her mother asked. Nadia pouted her lips and didn't reply. She refused to sit in the chair provided, while the two professional makeup artists waited for her to sit down so they could do her makeup.
"Nadia, it's almost 10:30 a.m. The ceremony has already started. All that's left is the breaking of the kola nut and for your father and the elders to bless your marriage so you can go with your husband," Mrs. Duane said. She had already changed her clothes. After leaving Nadia's room, Mrs. Diane went back to her room to get dressed.
She wore a native blue dress, as it was the wedding color chosen to celebrate Nadia's marriage.
