Ernesto leaned back in his chair, went silent for about a minute, sighing, his eyes focused on some point beyond the room, twisting his lips as if fighting to keep his cool. His fingers drummed on the dining table.
And Antonio, on the other hand, was very patient.
Finally, Ernesto looked his way.
"So you don't mind me introducing her to the family?"
Antonio grimaced. "No, I was being sarcastic."
"Oh." Ernesto mouthed. "Makes sense."
"Ernesto!" Antonio snapped, but Ernesto spat back, his voice rising, his fist connecting with the table.
"What do you want from me, Antonio? To apologize? I got you another step-sibling. Sorry, you're not getting that from me. And how the hell did you find out about Diane?"
