Clara was nervous, terrified actually and she brushed her palms the front of her skirt to wipe off the sweat coating them. Elian was throwing a dinner party to introduce her to his family. Not just his mother and father but his three sisters, his brother, all their spouses and the kids too.
“Are you ready Clara?” Ben asked as he moved to open the door of the car. Her grandfather had behaved just as she’d predicted. Ben’s contract with Edward Draxton had been severed and though Ben hadn’t pushed for it, Clara had told her grandfather she wouldn’t stay on with Draxton unless he paid the man his full contract out of his own pocket. Clara had given Ben the option to work for her but also told him she wouldn’t be offended if he decided he’d had enough of the Draxton family and went elsewhere.
