Sarah’s POV Andrew threw himself in front of me, and the razor-sharp edge of the sword came down across his body. He turned, pulled a gun from the back of his pants, and shot the man in the skull twice. Both men collapsed. I dropped to Andrew’s side. “Shift, Andrew.” He stared up at me, and blood soaked his clothes. “Please, Andrew, shift. If you shift, you will heal.” He half-smiled and brushed a hand over my cheek. There was too much blood. He couldn’t shift to heal himself. I saw the man Andrew used to be before Margaret died, staring up at me. A man willing to die to protect the people he cared about. A knot formed in my throat as I put pressure on his wounds. It was just too big. I choked on a sob. “Andrew, hang in there.” I screamed, “Someone help me. Please, anyone.” Blood
