Two days. It had been two days since I stood in the middle of that nursery and used my siren powers to bring two raging supreme alphas to their knees. Two days of awkward silence, sidelong glances, and more tension than an entire season of Grey's Anatomy. If I didn't know better, I'd think everyone here was trying to figure out what the hell to do with me.
The twins were finally asleep. Alexander was curled into a tiny ball, his hand clutching the edge of his blanket like it was his personal battle armour, while Elara sprawled out like a tiny starfish. I leaned back in the oversized chair, exhaling a long breath I hadn't realized I'd been holding.
