I’d told Keaton she wouldn’t react well to the request Faaro had. Melo didn’t seem to care either way. She was friendly with Gino, but didn’t really consider him a friend. When she learned about what he did to Bailey’s family, she got a disdainful look in her eyes. Though she didn’t defend him, she also didn’t condemn him.
Melo was the most levelheaded of the three wolves from Storm Moon. She didn’t do anything unnecessary. There was no wasted energy on her part, as if she was conserving her physical and emotional energy for an upcoming battle we didn’t know about.
