I wiped the tear that slipped as I stepped into the walk-in closet. I’d been crying for a while, waiting for my husband. It hurt. It felt like Enzo didn’t care about me at all. Him not picking me up from university? I could understand that. He was busy. But leaving me waiting and not even calling? That cut deeper. It made me feel invisible to my own husband. He couldn’t spare a minute to tell me dinner was off. “Enough, Bella,” I muttered to myself, pressing a palm to my cheek. I wasn’t going to cry. I wasn’t going to let him hurt me like this.
