The next day, Emilia moved into the Hayes household with her belongings. Sebastian lit up, excitedly shouting “Mommy!” while circling around her. Lucas, though he got along great with Sebastian, seemed a bit shy around Emilia, unsure whether to call her.
Seeing the kids' happy little faces, Emilia felt warm inside.
She didn’t just take care of Sebastian—she was kind to Lucas too. Her impressive British cooking even won over Mr. and Mrs. Hayes. Inevitably, she also ran into Dominic now and then.
“Sebastian, slow down! Don’t trip,” Emilia called out to the boys playing in the garden, purposely ignoring Dominic’s presence as she brushed past him with some laundry in her arms.
Dominic turned, watching her retreating back, his eyes clouded with emotion.
