Suddenly, Gamma Maya and Shari inhaled sharply.
Their eyes snapped wide open and, without a bated breath, the two identical twin sisters dashed out of the house and into the woods, holding up their dresses with their fists. They looked like two ebony Disney princesses on a run as the sun dipped below the horizon, causing a dramatic, colorful painting across the sky and casting long shadows. The sunset transformed the clouds into a canvas of crimson and rose.
They both excitedly shouted,"Mate! Mate!" as they ran, causing Beta Tamar, Beta Landon and Alpha River to follow behind them. Beta Tamar was excited because this meant to her that her best friends had mates in her pack and would stay.
